St. Joseph's Hospital (Cluny) is a faith-based healthcare institution in the heart of Puducherry, run in the tradition of the Congregation of St. Joseph of Cluny. For generations we have cared for families across the union territory and neighbouring districts.
Today the hospital brings together emergency and trauma care, general medicine, surgery, maternity and neonatal services, paediatrics, orthopaedics, nephrology, oncology surgery and more than fifteen specialist consultations, supported by a NABL accredited laboratory, digital imaging, a modern dialysis unit and dedicated intensive care.

The Congregation of St. Joseph of Cluny, founded by Blessed Anne-Marie Javouhey, has served in Puducherry for well over a century through schools, dispensaries and hospitals. St. Joseph's Hospital (Cluny) grew out of that work: what began as a modest dispensary caring for the poor of the town has become a full multi-speciality hospital.
Each expansion has followed the same pattern - a need identified in the community, and a decision to meet it. A maternity block for mothers with nowhere else to go. Intensive care units so critically ill patients need not be moved. A dialysis unit so renal patients could be treated close to home.
The Sisters of St. Joseph of Cluny open a dispensary serving the families of the old town.
Maternity care and in-patient wards are added as the dispensary grows into a hospital.
